In April 2012, the refurbishment in Meiningen was successfully completed with a test drive. The locomotive was then transferred first to Nuremberg and then on to Lichtenfels. On April 10, 2014 the locomotive was transferred from Lichtenfels to Forchheim. In 2016 the locomotive was transferred from Lichtenfels to the DB Museum in Nuremberg.

Delivery to, and acceptance by the DRB - Deutsche Reichsbahn as No. 45 010 in 02/1941 but was soon damaged and, by 1944, stored awaiting repairs at Rottendorf until 1948, finding itself during 1945 in the OBL-USZ - General operations management of the US zone, Frankfurt (Main). This eventually became the HVE as the Railway Department into the Transport Administration that, in 1949 created the DB - Deutsche Bundesbahn. In 03/1951 it received a combustion chamber boiler (Krupp 2842/1950) with stoker firing but was shutdown at the end of 1955. From 1956-1968 it was used as a brake locomotive at BZA Minden - Federal Railways Central Office, Minden, later at München where it also became No. 045 010-6, being withdrawn here in early 1969. It then went to the VMN - Nuremberg Transport Museum as No. 45 010, being first stored at Bw Mühldorf; then Bw Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg, and from 1970 Bw Bamberg. It was on loan to the DGEG - German Society for Railway History e. V., Werl for Neustadt Railway Museum (Weinstrasse) and eventually found its way, in 1996, to the DB Museum, Nürmberg. This is a very unlucky locomotive having been constantly damaged during its lite-time! On the last occasion it was inside (stored) during 2005 at Bw Nürmberg West (Hbf) during the major fire on October 17, 2005 tgen stored for just under a year in nearby Aw Nürnberg, from where it was moved to Raw Meiningen awaiting external repairs.
