Delivery to, and acceptance by, the DRB - Deutsche Reichsbahn as No. 41 226 at Reichsbahn repair shop Nied, Frankfurt (Main)-Nied in 07/1940. After WW2 it found itself in the RBGD - Reichsbahn General Directorate of the British Zone of Occupation, Bielefeld mat eventually became the HVE as the Railway Department into the Transport Administration, and in 1949 the DB - Deutsche Bundesbahn. In 1961 it was given a new chamber boiler at Bw Braunschweig (Henschel 29936/1961), mixing preheater type 1957, single valve superheated steam controller and oil main firing (as part of an L3 investigation) and in 1968 computerised as No, 042 226-1 until withdrawal in 1977 and sold privately to Werner. Girrbach, Ötigheim, Germany as No. 41 226, being first stored at Bw Offenbach depot; then in 1989 stored in Bw Pforzheim, Germany. It went to the DDMM - German Steam Locomotive and Model Railway Museum, Tuttlingen, Germany.
