Originally delivered to the then DRB during the opening days of WW2 as No. 41 303, it succeeded in the same identity during 1949 into the emerging DR to later become No. 41 1303-1, working until 1987 when it then served as a stationary boiler in both Magdeburg and Berlin-schoneweide. It went to Röbel in 1993 but was stored at Lübbenau in 2016.

Used as a stationary steam heating boiler at Berlin Schoneweide depot in 1993. The large square opening on the side of the smokebox is a relic of this usage. At that time, the cylinders were removed.

The loco carries some Soviet era Russian markings (Note the red star on the smokebox door) These were applied in 2009 when the loco featured in the German TV film Das Duell about the battle of Stalingrad in World War 2. Information from Phil Horton.
