Delivered directly to DR as No. 23 1097, when later computerised it became No. 35 1097-1 and lasted in service until November 1981, then purchased by the HEF at Frankfurt am Main. In 1996 it went to the BSW, Glauchau but has visited several events throughout the country since.

DR No. 35.1097, a 2-6-2 at the Saxon Railway Museum, Hilbersdorf, Chemnitz on 19 June 1999. The loco is carrying its origial DR no. 23.1097
