Delivered to the DB in the then West Germany as No. 23 029 until, in 1968, it was computerised as No. 023 029-2, working from Bw Crailsheim until being withdrawn in late 1975. It was first preserved by Baron Koenig-Fachsenfeld then, in 1980, went on display outside a training school in Aalen where it is believed to remain.
