Originally ordered by the DRG, but delivered and accepted by the DRB - Deutsche Reichsbahn as No. 01 220 in Braunschweig during 06/1937 and, although operational in late 1945 it was shutdown by the OBL-USZ - General operations management of the US zone, Frankfurt (Main) that itself eventually became the HVE as the Railway Department into the Transport Administration. In 1949 it joined the newly created DB - Deutsche Bundesbahn in its original identity and was fitted, in 08/1959 with Jung boiler 13016/1958 at Frankfurt am Main-Nied workshops. It was stored at Bw Nürnberg Rbf in 1967, but the following year computerised as No. 001 220-3 and withdrawn in 10/1968. The following July it was placed on display in,Treuchtlingen in its original identity.
