This locomotive was built by Vulcan Locomotive Works Wilkes Barre in 1916 builders number 1217. Both 1217 and 1218 were imported to NSW as identical locomotives. It was renumbered to NSWGR as 1022 in 1924. It was mainly used at Enfield steam locomotive depot shunting dead engines and tenders around. In 1971 it transferred to Parramatta park but in 1992 it was involved in a serious fire and the transferred to Valley Heights Locomotive depot where it remains under restoration.
