NSWGR 3820 Was withdrawn in 1970. First preserved at Enfield museum. Its last steam run was delivering itself and other exhibits from Endfield to Thirlmere. In 1980 it was on display at Sydney Central station for the 125th celebrations

3820 in black livery was coupled to 3801 to haul the last Melbourne Express steam train to Melbourne. I believe that , upon reaching Albury, it ran alongside Victoian locomotive 707B on an adjoining track to Flinders Street terminal. Both trains were carrying steam enthusiasts who recognised the importance of the occcasion.

The NSWRTM operated 3820 back in the 1970's on tour workings, 1975 I believe was the last time the museum used it. It is going to remain on static display for a long while now, due to the museum working on other items, but 3820 is in good condition.

3820 Has a good black design of a non streamlined loco.
Is the NSWRTM thinking of restoring 3820 by any chance
