Now located back home at Hopetown in Darlington, and after doing its part for Railway 200 this year, the 1975 built working replica of "Locomotion No. 1", is on display for the Christmas season. Afterwords it will be moved to the Whessoe Road Engine Shed for the winter to be ready to work steam rides at Hopetown and the heritage railway circuit for 2026.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 44871, is down south of the UK for the festive season to work Christmas charter trains for the Railway Touring Company as well as working some mainline Polar Express trains out of London, Euston this Christmas.

The ex Great Northern Railway (Ireland) S Class 4-4-0 No. 171 "Slieve Gullion", the flagship locomotive for the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland, has made a welcome return to the broad gauge mainline network on Northern Ireland for the first time since completion of its overhaul, hauling the Railway Preservation Society of Ireland’s Santa Specials between Dublin and Maynooth.

Loco 764-202 has been bought and deliverered to a factory in Italy, near Venice as a monument. Her sisters N° 201, 205 and 210 are still in Romania. N° 203 is in France ( chemin de fer de Rillé) and re-gauged to 600 mm.

The 5ft gauge former Finish State Railways, Tr1 2-8-2 No. 1060, has been put up for sale by the family of the late David Buck to see it go to a new home for future preservation.

There are no current public plans for the operational restoration of the Colorado Fuel & Iron No. 10 locomotive at the Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum (CERM).

you can see parts of this locomotive scattered across the yard at the given location. you can see its green saddle tank separated from the rest of its body on google maps.

Both were on display at the VoR Steam Festival. 762 looking pretty good, 765 looked a bit twisted, but that may be superficial. Can be seen on videos.

The ex Fairfield-Mabey Kerr Stuart & Co 0-4-0WT Works No. 3063 "Willy", will be visiting the Dean Forest Railway for their upcoming Spring Steam Gala on the 28th and 29th of March 2026, and will be reunited with former Great Eastern Railway, 1876 built Class 209 or LNER Y5 0-4-0ST No. 229, for the first time in preservation as they worked together at the National Shipyard in Chepstow, which later became Fairfield Mabey from where they were both rescued in 1982.

The former Great Eastern Railway, 1876 built Class 209 or LNER Y5 0-4-0ST No. 229, is to make a return to London, Liverpool Street Station for the first time, where it will be on display outside the former Great Eastern Hotel at Liverpool Street on a low loader to mark Railway 200 and help raise funds for charity on the 8th and 9th of December 2025. Then in 2026, the locomotive will visit the Dean Forest Railway for the very first time for their upcoming Spring Steam Gala on the 28th and 29th of March 2026, that will see it celebrate its 150th birthday and reunite with ex Fairfield-Mabey, Kerr Stuart & Co. 0-4-0WT Works No. 3063 "Willy", for the first time in preservation as they worked together at the National Shipyard in Chepstow, which later became Fairfield Mabey from where they were both rescued in 1982.

I could be wrong, but are you sure the locomotive in the picture is c&nw 175? It seems to have a northern pacific tender. is that a replacement to the original tender or did this locomotive operate on the northern pacific?

Change status to Abandoned. the 2-8-0 is certainly not stored and has been abandoned at eagle lake since the logging in the area stopped.

Now back in its Manchester Ship Canal Grey livery, the ex Manchester Ship Canal Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0T (Works No. 680) No. 32 "Gothenburg", (aka Thomas the Tank Engine) is visiting the Cambrian Heritage Railway for the festive season to work their Santa Specials over Christmas and work their Mince Pie Specials and the end of the year. "Gothenburg" will return to the East Lancashire Railway in the New Year to be repainted back as Thomas the Tank Engine for the 2026 season.

The BR built LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No. 46441, is staying on at the East Lancashire Railway for the winter season to help with their Santa Specials over the Christmas season and will return home to the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway in the early New Year.

The ex United States Army Transportation Corps S160 2-8-0 No. 5197, has been given a short extension to its boiler ticket that will see operate at the Churnet Valley Railway until February 2026. No. 5197 is currently rostered to work the popular Polar Express trains at the Churnet Valley this Christmas which will be its last season on them before overhaul from February 2026.

The BR built LMS Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No. 46521, is now in the last stages of its overhaul and is due to return home to the Great Central Railway very soon as its tender is now safely back at Loughborough.

The ex LMS 8F 2-8-0 No. 48305, has now been relocated to Tyseley Locomotive Works at Tyseley in Birmingham where its overhaul will be carried out, and is hoped it will be back in traffic during 2026.

The restoration of the ex NCB Mountain Ash, Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2074 "Llantarnam Abbey", has reached a milestone as the boiler was steamed for the very first time in preservation and passed with flying colours, and it will be placed back onto the frames very soon for final work to complete the restoration.
