After a good Gala appearence, the ex Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34072 "257 Squadron", is to remain at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway until the end of the 2025 running season there, where it will operate trains there during October and maybe used on their Santa Express Trains during the Christmas season in December 2025.

In a change of plans, BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80078, will be staying on at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway until the end of October 2025 for some running days there.

475 is going under a fix. It’s been like that since February. It’s not Operational right now

Now fully painted in its full BR Brunswick Green livery, the unique BR Standard 8P Class Pacific No. 71000 "Duke of Gloucester", has been turned out as it would have looked back when she was first built in 1954 a livery that she has yet to carry in preservation. No. 71000 will haul two loaded test train from Crewe via the Telford Circuit on the 8th and 9th of October and will then work a trip to Carlisle on Saturday the 10th of October and will work its first offical outting on a Locomotive Services Ltd Chairman’s Special on the 12th of October 2025. After that the locomotive will haul its first public railtours over the Christmas season and then from 2026 will start hauling more charter trains for Saphos Trains and Steam Dreams on the mainline as well as visits to preserved railways around the UK.

The ex NCB, Woolley Colliery Hunslet built 0-6-0ST Works No. 1589 "Newstead", will be visiting the Dean Forest Railway for the very first time for their Royal Forest of Steam Gala weekend on the 1st and 2nd of November 2025.

The overhaul on ex Ashington Colliery, Peckett built 0-6-0ST Works No. 1970 "Ashington No. 5", has now been completed and the locomotive is back operational and hauling trains at the North Tyneside Steam Railway again.

#56112 is not a VF Works No; Henschel and NBL also built some of these River Class locos but only US builders reached works numbers as high as this. Either the works No is wrong or it is not a VF loco.

The St Helena Gold Mine closed in 2002. It has been flooded and is now a lake. The loco is probably scrapped but may have been sold on.
