There is an error in the specifications. Fuel is not oil. Correction, fuel is WOOD.

According to the alphabetilately.com website, no. 4 is probably the steam locomotive depicted on the 10-cent stamp issued on 3 September 1975 to celebrate the bicentennial of the US postal service, although with a little artistic licence!

Mr Markoff - do you know if this engine was used the first train scene shot in the Dakotas for "How The West Was Won" and the Glen Ford western, The Sheepman?   My father was the fireman in these films and I am trying to track down this engine.   Thanks, Rich Smylie

During Dan Markoff's restoration of the "Eureka" she was converted from oil burner back to wood burner. The Photo in the Photo Album by Mike Del Vecchio was taken in 1991 at Scaramento, California. It was there for the 10th anniversary of the California State RR Museum. This was the locomotive's first outing after restoration. Note that she is resting on temporary track installed for the event. For a later event 3-rail track was permanently installed at this location.

Eureka burns cordwood, not oil as stated here.  Yes, she is a great looker! Dan really did a nice jod on her.

Well, I think it would make a great addition to Silverwood's collection(idaho), as engine seven, also from the eurika palisades RR, almost exactly matches.

It ran on the Durango and Silverton Railroad for a while. I think it would make a good Disneyland or Disney World Railroad Engine,
