The locomotive was formerly named TONDELLA.

Visitors to the Photo Album images for this locomotive will note that the locomotive carries Emil Kessler, Esslingen Works plate No. 2193 of 1886. This does not correspond to its actual record, this being No. 2348 of 1889 which would fit with Nos. E52 and E55, also preserved in Portugal. I would suggest that the plate which the locomotive bears actually came from CP No. E85 (now scrapped). Fortunately a comparison may be made in these pages with the plate from No. E86 (Esslingen 2194) at FMNF Macinhata do Vouga museum.
