The station that 2542 is displayed burned down in May 2021. 2542 is okay but the station is gone. It was a total loss.

Possibly the same IC locomotive that was formerly located in Natchez on the bluff above the river. At that time, had two passenger cars behind it.

This locomotive was originally built in 1921 by the Lima Locomotive Works in Lima, Ohio as a 2-10-2. Twenty-one years later it was rebuilt in the I.C's Paducah, Ky shops to the 4-8-2 mountain wheel configuration. This locomotive is one of only 2 survivors of the 2500 class locomotive on the I.C.

This engine has been relocated to the downtown Mccomb railroad station, next to the IC (CN) mainline.
