Midland Company number 6 was in service until 1956, the last remaining steam loco of the Midland Railway. Displayed in a park at Geraldton. In 2000 moved to Midland Railway workshops, Perth, possibly for restoration work. With the closure and demolition of the railway works no work was carried out. Moved to Walkaway station.

Midland Railway ran from Walkaway to the suburbs of Perth. Later the Government Railway ran its own line, effectively stopping any expansion of the Midland. Walkaway station became a junction with the Western Australian Government Railway. In the end WAGR took over the struggling Midland Railway.
