Having worked its final trains at the East Lancashire Railway, the ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212, has now been withdrawn from service and is now being relocated to Riley & Son Engineering Ltd at Bury in Lancashire, where it will undergo its overhaul there.

Now in the last few weeks of its boiler ticket, the ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212, is visiting the East Lancashire Railway to work its final trains there before being withdrawn from service for its next overhaul. No. 45212 will work its final trains at the East Lancashire Railway on the 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st (2nd and 3rd trip only on 21st Sep) 2025.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212, will be operating trains at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway this weekend and into next week as well as it will be one of the last opportunities to see No. 45212 operating at the railway as this year is the locomotive’s last running season on both the mainline and heritage railway circuit as No. 45212 is due to be withdrawn from service for its next overhaul later this year.

Having finnished its festive duties at the Wensleydale Railway and mainline running for the year, ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212, has now returned home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for the winter to be ready for another season on the mainline and heritage railway circuit in 2025.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212, is visiting the Wensleydale Railway for the first time to operate their Polar Express Trains over the Christmas Season during December 2024, and will also be used on their Mince Pie Specials up to the New Year then too.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212 will be visiting the Nene Valley Railway for the winter to be extra motive power for their Santa Specials over the Christmas season from November to December 2023, and January 2024.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212 is returning home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway after a good season hauling the Jacobite on the West Highland line in Scotland from Fort William to Malliag this year. No. 45212 should be working Santa Specials and Mince Pie Specials over Christmas and the New Year at the Keighley & Worth Valley before her winter maintenance.

Having had a successful season on the Jacobite services in Scotland this year the ex LMS Black Five No. 45212 has returned home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway time for their Beer and Music Festival this weekend on the 16th 17th of October 2021. After this the locomotive will undergo its winter maintenance before appearing on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway’s post Christmas services in late December and New Years before another season out on the mainline again in 2022.

Having had a bit of a odd season on the Jacobite this year LMS Black Five No. 45212 has returned home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for the winter and will be out again on the mainline and hauling the Jacobite in 2021.

LMS Black Five 45212 is returning home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for the winter after a good season in Scotland working the Jacobite trains with sister Black Five 45407 and LNER K1 No. 62005. No. 45212 will undergo its winter maintenance to be ready for another season working from Fort William to Mallaig in 2020.

LMS Black 5 45212 is to return home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway to part of a special line up of visiting locomotives for a huge 8-day gala to celebrate 50 years since the opening of the Keighley & Worth Valley line as a heritage railway.

LMS Black 5 45212 is down South as it has a busy time out on the mainline over Christmas as well. The Black 5 will be working some Christmas Cathedrals Express trips out of London over the festive season till the 22nd of December. After that 45212 will head back North to Ian Rileys works next to the East Lancashire Railway for its winter maintenance.

45212 will be doing its mainline test run this Friday on the Carnforth, Hellifield circuit and the following weekend if all goes well it will be joining a host of steam locos at the steam gala at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. The Tin Barth railtour it was ment to do has been cancelled so instead 45212 will make its mainline debut in Scotland on the Jacobite Trains from this Easter till the end of October.

45212 is currently undergoing further running in trials at the East Lancashire Railway having been fitted with airbrakes for mainline running. The loco will be making its mainline debut on March the 5th working with 45407 in the Railway Touring Companys "Tin Bath" railtour.

Currently working on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway and was in steam on Monday August 18th. Loco has been overhauled at Grosmont, NYMR, under an agreement with Keighley & Worth Valley, under which it works on both lines. Looks even better than on the album photo, which was taken in the 1970's. This engine has the distinction (?) on having been wallpapered (really!) for a TV wallpaper adhesive advert in the 70's. If anyone has a photo of this, it would be good to put in an album on the site.
