The tender of former GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3814, has been moved to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for storage now, where it will be set aside until the restoration on No. 3814 has been completed. It had been hoped that the tender would be used with new-build GWR Grange Class 4-6-0 No. 6880 "Betton Grange" for a while, but when the tank was test filled with water it had some serious leaks in it. So the tender will need some re-work to be carried out.

The tender from 3814 has been sent on loan to the Llangollen Railway for use possibly with sister GWR Heavy Freight No. 3802. As for 3814 there has been talk of carrying on with its restoration so is could be part of the North Yorkshire Moors steam fleet but its unknown if this will happen or not?

The classic Great Western freight locomotive. This has been at Grosmont for a number of years but progress on its restoration has been very slow and the present photo shows it standing in the loco depot headshunt where little work will be able to be done. What does the future hold for 3814?
