An appeal has been launched by Peak Rail to help raise £75.000 needed to overhaul ex War Department Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns built Austerity 0-6-0ST WD 150 (Works No. 7136) "Royal Pioneer" back into steam again and so far they have rasied £10.000. Details for this appeal are on Peak Rail’s website and social media.

The ex War Department Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns built Austerity 0-6-0ST WD 150 (Works No. 7136) "Royal Pioneer" is in the final stages of overhaul at Peak Rail and is set to return to service during their Mixed Traffic Gala from the 12th to 14th of August 2022.

Just in another Austerity 0-6-0ST that is getting the royal blue and red livery of the Longmoor Military Railway as well is WD150 Royal Pioneer at Peak Rail. WD150 is currently in the last stages of its overhaul and could be back in steam possibly round Easter or later in the year.
