The GGR is situated in the district of Onchan, to the north of Douglas.

The gauge should be 2 foot gauge 610mm.

Groudle Glen Railway No. 'Sea Lion' at the "Sea Lion Rocks" terminus of the Railway. The railway opened in 1897 when the loco was built. The site and loco are so named as a zoo, housing sea lions and polar bears was built into the coastline of the Isle of Man here. As far as I am aware the zoo did not reopen after World War 2 and the railway was left derelict for many years. Both the line and the loco have now been restored. Its second loco "Polar Bear" has also been restored and is based in Sussex
