The Lyon has been donated and moved to the Nevada State Railroad Museum where the construction is expected to be finished. Please change location to Carson City.

The Lyon has been moved to Mason City, Iowa. Construction is still underway and about 60% completed.

I was at Strasburg this week, and have been informed that the Lyon replica has been moved to Iowa for the remainder of the work required to make it operational. I'm guessing it's now in Mason City (need to confirm).

The locomotive in the photo is not the "Lyon". It is a duplicate photo of V&T #20 "Tahoe", listed below.

Some specifications of the original V&T #1, "Lyon": Cylinders: 14x22" Drivers: 40" Weight: 44,000# The original locomotive was built in 1869, operated on the V&T until 1880, and scrapped in 1900.

This is reported to be new construction, a full sized, operational replica of a Virginia and Truckee 2-6-0.
