The "Alco-Cooke Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 48585 and 48586, Road Numbers 85 and 87, were shipped to "Oahu Railway & Land" during November of 1910. Both units were 4-6-0's and had a "Specified" total weight of 67,000 pounds (This is not necessarily the "Actual" total weight).

Before returning to Hawaii, this locomotive ran in Griffith Park in Los Angeles pulling a two car consist on a short museum run. The line was called the Crystal Springs and Southwestern and began at Traveltown. When the locomotive failed to pass a boiler inspection, it was placed on static display. The two Hawaiian coaches are still at the museum.

Here is some information on 85 for you. This locomotive was built by A.L.C.O. in 1910 for the Ohau Railway and shipped around the horn to Hawaii. When she was retired there in the early 50`s Gerald M. Best persuaded the Ohau Railway and Navigation Co. to donater her in operating condition to the Traveltown Museum in Los Angeles in Griffith Park. From 1955 until about 1962 she was operated there as the Crystal Springs and Southwestern Railroad. The engine had suffered heavy deterioration during that time and was sadly never repaired. From that time on she sat as just a static display until comming back to Hawaii.
