The new build replica Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Baldwin 2-4-2T "Lyn" is to head to North Wales for the very first time. To be the star visiting locomotive at the Welsh Highland Railways Super Power weekend on the 14th to 16th of September 2018. The locomotive will be based on the northern section of the line at Dinas for the duration of its visit, and will provide the motive power for special trains running between Caernarfon and Rhyd Ddu. It might also be paired with Ffestiniog built Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Manning Wardle 2-6-2T "Lyd" at the gala as well.

Just a slit error here? The location for No. 762 "Lyn" is Woody Bay, Devon not Somerset sorry.

The new build Baldwin replica Lynton & Barnstaple Railway 2-4-2T No. 762 Lyn has been moved to its new home at the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway for its debut at the September Gala on September 30th till October 1st.

Yesterday on the 8th of July the new build replica Lynton & Barnstaple Railway Baldwin 2-4-2T No. 762 "Lyn" was steamed and moved under its own power for the very first time. There is a few things to done but the new locomotive is now complete and will begin a series of testing before it moves to the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway. Where it will it will make its debut to the public at there September steam gala.

The locos boiler has passed its hydraulic test and a steam test is expected to take place in May or June 2017. As much of the mechanical parts are assembled, this is significant progress towards seeing this re-creation of this Baldwin design in action on the rebuilt section of the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway
