Krauss 8457 - only the boiler is at Bouth. I have been told the frames are being altered at Ravenglass. Appears they are saying it will take over a year to modify the loco. There is a working farm at Bouth, Old Hall Farm, open to the paying public every day. Their workshops overhaul road vehicles, steam traction engines and steam boilers.

A remarkable story here. The loco was built in 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition in Seville, where it ran daily for just over a year. After occasional working up to 1932, it was stored until its wheels were borrowed for use in a diesel loco in the 1960s. Then it was bought with the intention of using it on a line at Mataro, near Barcelona, but this never went ahead. The restoration of the loco continued and a new tender tank had been built.

The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway Preservation Society raised the funds to buy and transport the loco to the UK, where more work will be done to prepare it for operation on the 15 inch gauge line in Cumbria.
