One of two locomotives dispatched from Leeds on 28th October 1911. Both were supplied to NSWG Public Works Department for railway construction on NSW northern coast. later this loco moved to work on construction of a second reservoir at Potts Hill, Sydney and in 1923 moved to Sydney's Ryde Pumping Station, owned by the Metropolitan Sewerage and Drainage Board. The loco hauled coal wagons from the railway main line to coal bunkers for the boilers.

In 1985 it was restored to working order at Thirlmere, then was stored at the Powerhouse Museum workshop and storage facility at Castle Hill, located in the Sydney suburbs. The castle Hill facility was expanded and the public allowed in occasionally. A further upgrade allowed exhibition halls to be opened. Now called the Discovery Centre, it is open Monday to Friday and a large selection of exhibits are on view. I was told that if you really want to view an item not on display, as long as it is not in their workshops, they will endeavour to allow you access.
