Originally delivered to the DRG, it later served with the DR from 1949 becoming No. 03 0090-5 when computerised. It was withdrawn from service in 1985 and stored at a sub-shed in Stralsund before going to the EU in Pasewalk in 1993, and later Schwerin.

This is per my first note of 26 January, 2022 and is Krauss-Maffei No. 15842/1940. It also has EPD number of 03 0090-5. How the number 3.109, other than being a type error, is a mystery to me also. M.E.&T is the former Bw Schwerin.

Loco went into z status in 1979 and withdrawn in 1985. Many organisations in Western Europe wanted to buy it. Stralsund shed staff hid the loco at a sub shed. It was officially preserved later. Still owned by DB it is now displayed at the Mecklenburgische Eisenbahn & Tecknik Museum in Schwerin and has never worked since withdrawal. It is displayed as 03 1090 which is a magic number - Einheitstag - German Reunification date.
