QJ 6998 was among the last QJ Steam Locomotives working on the Daban to Chabuga section of the Jitong Railway in 2005. This locomotive had been set aside for preservation in the United States of America and was moved from Daban to Jinzhou 701 works in Liaoning province for storage till a buyer could be found in the USA. 6998 would have joined sister QJ’s 6988, 7081 and 7040 over in the USA but sadly in 2010 Jinzhou 701 works closed and the locomotive was cut up for scrap and as of 2020 is now razer blades.
