QJ 6891 which was built at Datong works in 1985, mainly worked round the Changchun area of China Rail from 1985 to 1994. It then later went to Da’an Bei to see out its final days of service on China Rail from 1998 to 2001, where the Jitong Railway picked it up in 2002, to work trains over the legendry Jingpeng Pass. Following an overhaul in 2004, 6891 lasted in service right to the very end of steam on the Jitong Railway in December 2005. Today as of 2023, 6891 is still at Daban Depot on display with ten other QJ locomotives as a reminder of the Jitong Railway’s steam heritage when it was known as the last Great Steam Show in the world from 1995 to 2005.

QJ 6891 was the oldest of the QJ’s that remained in service till the very end of steam on the Jitong Railway in December 2005. The locomotive was speared the cutters torch and has survived today being on static display at Daban depot with her last remaining sister QJ’s as a reminder of what was once the last great steam show on the planet from 1995 to 2005.
