THe loco is at present being given a thorough cosmetic restoration by local enthusiasts. (I have photos if you can give me an e-mail to send them)

Snr. J López site refers to the construction number of this locomotive as BP No. 295 (as recorded on this site), and by the late Mr. Pat Ramsome-Wallis) as No. 293. Whichever, it was built for the Barcelona-Tudela Railway as their No. 11 ‘BASCONIA’ and when later taken over by the Northern Railway (Norte) it was renumbered as their No. 29 and renamed ‘IZARRA’. In 1927 it was sold to the steel works of Bascoñia Echevarri, Bilbao s.a. and when ‘expired’ it was then stored for preservation.
