Bialowieza is in Podlasie Province, Poland on the border with Bialarus.

TKp-26188 was introduced by the German Army to Upper Silesia and, in 1945, became KWK (Kopalnia Wegla Kamiennego}, Sosnica, Gliwice where it worked for most of its life. In 1975 is was moved to PKP Warsaw Odolany in preparation for an appearance at the nearby Warsaw Railway Museum at the end of which, in 1997, it was taken to Krzeszowice where it stayed for a decade before being moved to Kraków Plaszow depot. In Autumn 2009 it moved again, on this occasion to Hajnówka and then, in late November that year to taken to the former Bialowieza Towarowa Station, now Hotel and restaurant Carska, where it is currently outside on display at ul.
