Omiya Railway Museum, since opening in 2007, is at Japan, ?330-0852 Saitama, Omiya Ward, Onaricho, 3 Chome-4-7; Public transit access: Tetsudo-Hakubutsukan Station. The build number is Henschel 11663/1912.

A classic example of a rare type of loco for Japan - a true compound Mallet. Beautifully presented and carefully sectioned to reveal the inner structure of a locomotive. Notice how the video shows the colour coding of the hot gasses, water and steam and reveals the piston valves of the leading engine.

Those fluted side rods are such a typical German touch, picked out in red on this Henschel built loco.

Tokyo Transport Museum was closed down. This Steam Locomotive was moved to the Omiya Saitama new railway museum.
