This locomotive was originaly a 2-8-0 but modified to a 0-8-0 for yard work

The "Alco-Montreal Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 45584 through 45593, Road Numbers 1731 through 1740 were shipped to "Canadian Pacific" during September of 1908. If the Road Numbers increased sequentially with the Construction Numbers this unit's 'original' Road Number would be 1737. All of these units were built as 2-8-0's (Not 0-8-0's) and had a "Specified" total weight of 194,000 pounds. (This is not necessarily the "Actual" total weight)
