Locomotive currently has a diesel motor in the tender, though I am unsure if this was a mod made by Opryland, or Six Flags America.

Beatrice is operational again as of 12/20/2017. Much cosmetic work is still to be done. A new wooden pilot has been fabricated.

Beatrice is now at Kirby Family Farm in Williston FL with plans to have her operational sometime in 2017. Several years of outdoor storage have taken a toll but there appears to be no major mechanical problems.

No Opryland locomotives have ever been in California.

"Rachel" #2, and "Beatrice" #1/4, were at Opryland from 1972-1997, and "Elizabeth" #3 was at Opryland from 1977-1997.  After Opryland closed, Beatrice went to Six Flags America in Maryland, Elizabeth went to AstroWorld in Houston, and Rachel went to the Tennessee Central Railroad Museum (...then Doe River Gorge, and finally Grapevine, Texas)

You must have the Great America Custom Fabricators steam outline locomotives mixed up with the Opryland "Elizabeth" steam outline.

This locomotive was used at Great America in Santa Clara California until 2001 when it was moved to Texas.

Correction... Beatrice is at Six Flags America in Largo, MD.  Opryland's Elizabeth is at Astroworld.  Whereas Elizabeth was built by Custom Fabricators in Johnson City, I'm told that the conversion of Beatrice to diesel was done in house at Opryland.  Reportedly the diesel tender was built by someone south of Nashville.

After Opryland closed in 1996, the rides were bought by Premier Parks (now Six Flags). Beatrice (now a diesel) operates at Six Flags Astroworld in Houston, TX.
