This locomotive operated at Adventure Town wild west theme park in Alexandria Bay NY, near the Edgewood Resort, from 1955 to 1961.  It was known as the "Davy Crockett Express" at Adventure Town.

It was purchased in 1961 by Silver Dollar City as their first locomotive, and began operations in 1962 as the "Frisco Silver Dollar Line" Railway.

Prior to service at Adventure Town in 1955, Henry Ford owned her.

This loco was indeed a 4-4-2. I have seen and photographed this loco many times. It is still at Silver Dollar City at Branson as a display as of 6-2000. I have had trouble uploading a photograph of this loco. As soon as I can figure out the problem. I will post it.

This locomotive is mentioned in Jeff Terry's column (on this site) about amusement park steam.  It is a 2-4-2 with a tender (converted from an 0-4-0T).  It was acquired by Silver Dollar City in the early 1960's, and was their first locomotive.  It was retired in the 1980's.

An engine of this description did indeed run in the Alexandria Bay area.  From the photo, it appeared to be a sister of Wayne Co. Roads #7 (in the Ford Museum in Michigan), but with the tank removed and a tender added.  It could have been 2-4-0 or 2-4-2, but I have a hard time believing it was converted to 4-4-2.  Probably a typo.  "I cannot confirm nor deny" its presence in Missouri.
