This locomotive was ordered in 600mm gauge for the German South-West Africa (now Namabia) Otavi-Minen Railway but, presumeably due to circumstances pertaining by the time it was completed it actually went to work at the sugar mill in Java, where it had to be converted to gauge 700mm in order to operate, and where it was in 2008.
