Today (May 28th, 2022) marked a significant milestone for Nevada County Narrow Gauge No. 5 as she moved under steam for the first time since 1941.

This Fourth of July weekend, Nevada County Narrow Gauge No. 5 will be attending the Great Western Steam Up event at the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. She will be reuniting with her Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Co. stablemate, "Glenbrook".

For some reason this locomtoive does not look like it was made in 1875. I mean that the cab roof looks vary modern to me.

Contrary to what is stated, this engine is a display piece only. It was reboilered by a Hollywood studio in the 1970s. It was pushed around after that and would only make enough steam pressure to blow the whistle. It is under restoration for static display in a new museum building.
