Just wanted to note that the engine and green caboose have been moved to the yard in downtown Coopersville. The caboose has a for sale sign in the window.

This locomotive had some real problems when it arrived at the StLIM&S. Everything was fixable but the locomotive had deteriorated quite a bit. All the journal bearings were completely shot. One of the side rods was bent from an apparent derailment at some time in her life. New flues had been purchased to start the restoration but locomotive #5 was eating up too much time and money in repairs and operating expenses for the StLIM&S crews to get really motivated about 300 and the flues were sold. Sadly, the 300 was sold at a time when the StLIM&S had all but given up on a steam program. The powers that be sold our little 2-6-0 before we knew it and all we could do was watch her go. If there is anything positive to come of this is that her new owners have apparently spent quite a lot of time and money to give her an attactive cosmetic overhaul. I'm glad to see that. Still, I miss the little mogul. I hated to see her go.
