My previous note can be ignored. The only genuine 48" gauge locomotive to have ever been restored to run was the one from the Carroll Park & Western.

It is amazing that of all the TRUE 48" gauge engines still around, this one is the only one to have never actually been restored to working order at one point!

This engine was not fabricated by the Lehigh Valley Company shops. It, I believe was cobbled together from the remains of several other engines the company had laying around, and made into one good engine. In fact, I read in the David Conrad book of 1985 that the boiler was built in 1917 by Baldwin.

This locomotive is indeed an 0-4-0T, the saddle tank was removed years ago, if you inspect the engine you will note that there is nowhere for a drawbar connection under the cab, Im pretty sure that all of the Lehigh Coal co. steamers were saddle tankers.

this locomotive is at Knobels Amusement resort dont worry Ive seen a hundred times and is a shame for any steam locomotive to be treated the way it has over the years.

The loco is not an 0-4-0T its an 0-4-0 and is still there at Knoebels. They've moved it over the years, and its fairly well stripped bare. But kids love to climb all over it and play engineer. Its now located next to the Anthracite Museum behind the International Canteen. I used to play on it myself when I was small. Now THATS ancient history.

This locomotive is not at Knoebbels Grove Amusement Park. It is probably one of the LVC locomotives at Ottinger Machine. Will check.
