This data are for the first SP1297 a class S-8 build by Brooks in 1908 for Arzona Eastern later SP. This engine is long scrapped. The "Alco-Brooks Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 45069 through 45082, Road Numbers 1231, 558 through 564, 3 through 6, 26 & 27, were shipped to "Union Pacific - Eastern Arizona" during March of 1908. If the Road Numbers were assigned in the order as indicated above, Construction Number 45079 would equate to Road Number 5. (Road Number 38 must have been assigned to this unit at a later date)
