This was initially delivered to the shorty (18km) Eisfeld-Schönfeld Railway that connected with the Werra Railway at Eisfeld, later becoming part of the Harz system on DR as No. 99 731, later No. 99 7231-6. It was stopped for repairs/re-building in 1978 and when DB took over, was given the EDP number of 099 141-4, but now runs in it’s former DR identity for the HSB, who took over in 1993.

This loco 99-7231 and 99-7233 are locked in a shed at Ilfeld, they both have original frames. The HSB usually open the shed doors for public viewing once a year.
