This locomotive was originally Sächsische Staatsbahn No. 156 at Jöhstadt that, in 1925 became DRG No. 99 566 through to 1949, then for DR who later re-numbered it as 99 1566, effectively working through to 1988. In 1992 it went, via Chemnitz Hilbersdorf, to the DDM at Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg but was back in Hilbersdorf by 2003.

DR(Sächsische) No. 99.1566(99.566) is displayed at Cranzahl during the celebrations of 110 years of the 750mm gauge line to Oberwiesenthal in Saxony on 19 July 1997
