This loco is SAR No 78, but visitors to the Museum may be confused by the fact that it carries the number plates and works plates of SAR No 83. The real SAR No 83 is stored in operational condition. It was fully overhauled at Meiningen by 1996 and fitted with a new boiler. Privately owned by Dr. Muhr since May 1988.
