The locomotive was originally delivered during WW2 to the DRB (as the successor of DRG) No. 52 5584 which, following a period of SBZ Military Administration 1945-1949 was handed over to the newly created DR in the then East Germany in the same identity during the latter year and was fitted with a more powerful boiler sometime 1958-1962, probably either in Babelsberg or Stendal, coming out as No. 52 8104, later as EDP No. 52 8104-3. It first went to the B Falz sidings at Altes Lager (Jüterbog) when DB merged with DR, then on to Bw Falkenberg.
