The owner is GeBaCo GmbH The 8001 is located in the historic Gera railway depot is rollable and in complete condition. 50.889920° 12.076291°

This is another, possibly the last (at least extant) Class 52 that was actually ordered though A Borsig, Berlin but due to pertaining difficulties at the time, could not deliver and effectively sub-contracted the order to Schichau. It was delivered to the DRB (successor to the DRG) as No. 52 671, also with SBZ Military Administration 1945-1949 before joining the fledgling DR. It appears to have been the first of the class to be re-built with a more powerful boiler, either at Raw Babelsberg or Stendal and emerged as No. 52 8001, later becoming No. 52 8001-1. It retired at the end of 1991 and was purchased the following year by AE
