Owner: Joachim Schmidt Railway Foundation On loan to Historische-Eisenbahn-Gelsenkirchen e.V. since 2005. Rollable and completely preserved museum locomotive in good condition. Operational refurbishment is planned for the long term. Location in the engine shed 51.540156° 7.119954°

Delivered to the DRB as No. 44 1558, it suceeded in the same identity to DB in 1948, later being renumbered 044 558 (some have this as 44 556-9), the actual locomotive being withdrawn in 1977 and then displayed by the local EF, in Maximilianpark,Hamm until 2000, In 2005 it went to HEG, Gelsenkirchen-Bismarck in its original identity (thus solving the computerised identity mystery!).
