Loco is not at Cass, still in elkins stored under a tarp

Both number 9 and number 8 will be transported to cass for rebuilds/restoration, both are now owned by the state of West Virginia and have been since 2016.

Locos currently at Belington for restoration, not Elkins.

As of 11/19/2005 West Virginia Northern Number 8 and 9 have been moved to the West Virginia Central shops, awating restoration by the West Virginia Railroad Museum.

Take Note:  This locomotive and West Virginia Northern RR No. 9 are now on the property of the NEW West Virginia Railroad Museum at Elkins, WV.  BOTH locomotives will eventually be restored for operation on the West Virginia Central Railroad.  However, donations and contributions are still very much needed in order to make this happen.  You can get more information by visiting the museum's website at www.wvrailmuseum.com.
