As of July, 2004, this locomotive can best be described as a long-term project.  The intent is to make it operable, but shop personnel acknowledge that with four other locomotives (not including Thomas), the railroad currently cannot justify an all-out effort to rebuild it.  Their best guess is that any return to service for this engine is more than 5 years away.  It currently sits outside the back shop.  It has been stripped of all but the frame, drivers, cylinders, and the basic boiler shell.  All of the running gear has been removed.

This engine now owned by the Strasburg Railroad. Was originally sent to the SRR to be worked on but the owner ran out of money and sold the engine to SRR who is rebuidling it as time allows. From what I saw 4 years ago, the work included a brand new firebox as the backhead was being held up by two lengths or rail welded to the back of the boiler and everything inbetween was gone. Rumor had it that they were looking into modifying this into a PRR G-5 including belpair firebox....but again that is just rumor and not a fact yet.
