The loco (01-1104) will be leaving Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg on the 22/3/2024 to work its first rail-tour on 23/3/24, then will roam around Germany for the rest of 2024

ILFORD reports that 01-1104 last worked in 12/2023, will be at Neuenmarkt Wirsberg for winter storage 2023-2024, then in use again in 2024.

Faszination Dampf e.V. have an address in Nürnberg but the coordinates given below are certainly in Mönchengladbach. Presumably, this is where the locomotive is located at present. Faszination Dampf e.V. has an appeal running for funds to restore this powerful Pacific see their website for details in the link on the loco's page above.

It is reported as being the last streamlined Class O1 to be built in 1940 and converted to buring oil (from coal) in 1957 (there seems to be no record of it having been converted back to coal? - hence the renumbering as a Class 012 at a later date, and the current identification.

jNow fully operational (probably based at BEM Nödlingen) has been working of the DB network, noted running on 24 June 2023.

Loco in final stages of overhaul at Monchengladbach depot, should be ready for use ln summer / autumn of 2022.

Delivered to the DRB as No. 01 1104 with whom it served 1940-1945; the SBZ 1945-1949, then the DB 1949-1974 when it was withdrawn, having been re-numbered 012 104-8 post WW2. In early 1975 it was transported to Steamtown, Carnforth UK, where it languished until 1997 before returning ‘home’ to the BEM, Nördlingen, and subsequently in 2001, to the SEH Heilbronn as a non-runner.

The locomotive is now in the SEH which means "Süddeutsches Eisenbahn Museum Heilbronn". It is not operational.

Ex DB 4-6-2 no. 01.1104, built in 1940 built by Schwarzkopf and displayed at Carnforth, Lancashire, UK in July 1990 before sale to the Bavarian Railway Museum at Nördlingen
