The HS was originally a type from the Sjaelland (Zeeland) railway, later amalgamated into the DSB, and originated in 1894. There were 45 in all, built from 1894 to 1902. Niels Jensen, Damplokomotiver, Copenhagen 1971, gives their empty weight as 18,8 tons, drivers 1106mm, coal capacity 0,5 tons, and they were allowed only a 25km/h maximum speed.
