The traction engine origins of this unusual home made beast are clear in this photo. It is doubtful if the long unguarded chain drive would be allowed these days!

The view of the left hand side (The safer side, away from that long exposed chain) shows the origins of the wheels. At the front, a pair of ancient wagon wheels and at the rear a pair of driving wheels salvaged from some scrapped loco. Notice how the crank pin has been crudely chopped off. You have to admire the ingenuity!
