The cab is the driest place to be in the October rain at the Embsay and Bolton Abbey Railway. Typical GWR cab layout. Right hand drive, lever reverse, sight feed lubricator and single water gauge.

Before the preservation era, the sight of a Great Western loco on the Wensleydale branch would have been astonishing. But 31st July 2011 found GWR 0-6- 2T No.5643 running-round it's train at Leeming Bar on the Wensleydale Railway.
