Preserved today after a long and chequered career this is one of those locos built by a company for their own needs in an era when any reasonably well equipped company could build simple locos like this. Note the left hand hinged smokebox door.

Very straightforward layout of outside cylinders and inside Stephenson link valve gear.

A detail photo shows the well designed brake system. Notice the holes to allow for adjustment as the brake shoes wore.

The very basic cab. But it does reveal an unusual feature - a round firebox as later adopted on some Bagnall locos.
